Recycling company Macaulay Metals has shown both a sense of good timing, and a community spirit. The company is auctioning off a rather flat Nissan Laurel, fresh from Judith "Crusher" Collins and Anne "Terminator" Tolley's grasp; check this out:
Good on Macaulay Metals. Youthline is a deserving charity, and this is an opportunity to turn one young man's stupidity into something positive. We'd love to bid on the wreck, but we don't quite think that She Who Must Be Obeyed would like it as a sculpted centrepiece in our paddock!
As always with these kinds of novelty auctions, the Question and Answer section will provide some mirth. But tucked amongst the Q&A comes the comment from Macalays that people who can't afford to bid on the auction can go here to make an online donation to Youthline, which we will be doing. All they ask is that you type "Crushed car" in the comments section of the donation page, so that Youthline can track donations made in this manner in addition to the auction.
So if you're looking for a large and rather unique coffee table or a centrepiece for your garden, get in quick!
