The Friday Forum

It's Friday again, and as the mornings get darker, the sun sets sooner and the weather gets colder, it's been quite a week, especially with no holiday punctuating it.

So the Friday Forum is open for business; you know the rules; you set the agenda, and all that we ask is that you show a modicum of respect for the views of others, even if you disagree with them. And we've done Banksie to death; let's make this a Banks-free zone today.

That's all from us; the floor is, as ever, yours...

Would it be inappropriate for iPredict to run a poll on how many injuries/deaths will occur this weekend with the duck blasting season opening?
Given the amount of "accidents" with firearms over the last 12 months I shudder at the thought of the carnage that awaits!

Not at all inappropriate Rural Geek. For many, it's one of the most anticipated weekends of the year; open season on mallards and other ducks!

Have has a wonderful weeks vacation prior to starting a new role next week. Weather has been stunning, have put in 3 x 10 Km runs (big for me) and generally had a great week....

I however have had more time to muck about, of which I have, this then involves viewing blogs etc etc....

This whole media frenzy on Banks is shocking for me, not for the reason of me trying to stick up for John Banks (he has not played things to the best). However the Labour party and the extended arm of the Labour Party, the Herald has been unbelievable...

It makes me want to never have any following of what is occurring politically in NZ again. BUT - I can't, it is vital to follow....

What a conundrum to be in....

Something to watch for in tonights bottom of the (NZ) table Super XV game - I was going to say clash but that wold hardly be appropriate.

Will Tim Bateman again outplay Ma'a Nonu as he has in every previous clash when Bateman was playing for the Crusaders and Canterbury and Nonu for the Hurricanes and Wellington.
