Stuff is reporting on the conviction of a Wanganui woman for murder.
That's routine news of course. The story is time-stamped with today's date and timed at 9.24am. Where are we going with this? Well actually, the jury reached its verdict last Friday afternoon - almost a full five days ago! Even our local rag, the Wanganui Chronicle reported on the verdict on Saturday!!
We guess that that's one small victory for the dead-tree media over the live-and-up-to-the-minute electronic version.But it begs the question; why bother reporting the news at all when it's old news?
