Yes folks; you read it here first. Trevor Mallard actually apologised this afternoon.
During Question Time, he accused Paula Bennett of having made a one-fingered gesture after answering a question - a rather personal question it was too. Bennett emphatically denied having made any gesture, and the Speaker accepted her word.
Shortly after Question Time, Mallard took a call to advise that people had phoned in and assured his office that Paula Bennett was merely waving! On that basis, he apologised unreservedly.
Now, we don't praise Trevor Mallard very often. It may in fact be the first such occurrence in the almost two-year life of Keeping Stock! That makes it an event worthy of recognition. Well done Trevor, 'fessing up and all that.
And perhaps we could opine that now that Trevor Mallard has actually apologised once, and the sky hasn't fallen, he might like to make a habit of it. Let's see - there's Don Brash, the Exclusive Brethren, Julian Robertson.....
