Rolling maul

The Herald's "rolling maul" of attacks on Social Development Minister Paula Bennett continued yesterday with details of the offences committed by Viliami Halaholo, and a story today on Halaholo's parole status. It's all getting a litle silly, in our humble opinion, and the Herald runs the risk of being seen as conducting a vendetta against Bennett.

And not to be outdone, the Sunday Star-Times has entered the fray, with advice to Bennett from none other than Paul Holmes, who suggests that Bennett "stop supporting her daughter's gangster boyfriend".

Holmes, of course, speaks from bitter personal experience. We have sympathy for his point of view, but also for that of Paula Bennett. However we strongly agree with Holmes when he is quoted as saying:

He said all gangs were "filth, criminals, low life who have no aspiration, no respect for work and peddle drugs".
