One News poll - 14/9/08

Bad news for Labour - National ahead by 18 points! That's the outcome of the One News poll tonight. It seems that Labour has been tarnished by its unwavering support of Winston Peters and NZ First, and that voters agree with John Key's decision to rule out any deals with NZ First post-election.

National is on 53% (up two); Labour 35% (down 2).

Key 40%; Clark 31% in the preferred PM poll.

Guyon Espiner says Labour has a "massive job to turn this around". Unfortunately for Labour, the full fallout of Owen Glenn's revelations this week will only have been caught by the very tail-end of polling, so worse may be to come. Friday's Roy Morgan poll will be interesting, to see if the trend back towards Labour has ended. Meanwhile the pint that Jafapete now owes me will taste great!

Act up aswell.

Looks like cutting Luigi loose was the right thing to do!

A vote for Labour is a vote for Winston

You're dead right BTP. Key has made the running on Peters and very successfully painted Clark and Luigi into a corner where they are hanging on to one another.

The mud in which Peters has mired himself is pulling NZ First down and beginning to stick to Clark and Labour.

Key has been forced to rule out Peters because of the super efforts of Rodney.

I see that Key has now ruled out Peters even if he is cleared by the PC.

Now he just needs to say that he will not work with Peters even if Peters can clear up all the allegations in three minutes and the loop will be completely closed.

Although one swallow does not a summer make,
I think that this is probably a sign of things to come.
The lingering odure attached o Mr Peters will affect Labour polling for some time.
The other thing is the kiwi sense of fairplay. The unending negativity of the Labour approach will turn many off them.

I wouldn't be surprised if Liarbour suffer even more as the penny drops on how intertwined Uncle Helen and her poodle are.
Indeed, why else would the Sunbday Star-Times allow Captain Baubles the most sympathetic of portraits early today.
Because it suits Dear Leader to haveher poodle back.
It is too late for dear Leader to dump him.
The damage has been done and any late sacking will be seen as slf-serving and not based on principle.

Rodney has done well. Let's hope the boxing story pays off too.

and he said as much on radiosocialism just this morning. No deal with NZF with our with Winnie.

Helen got a hammering from the RadioSocialism reporters too - I guess it's a desperate attempt to stop the sell-off to FOX!
