And in a sign that Labour is turning personal on Key, it is trying to link him to the demise of the world's third largest investment bankers Merrill Lynch, Key's former employer.
“Given his background in Merrill Lynch, which has just gone belly up, I would have thought New Zealanders would come to the conclusion you wouldn't put a man like that in charge of New Zealand’s economy,” says Finance Minter Michael Cullen.
A touch desperate perhaps, and a sign Labour's gloves are off, and Key is in for an eight week fight.
This one is right up there with Cullen's famous "rich prick/scumbag" smear from last year. Doubtless his razor-sharp wit will be the subject of much back-slapping and self-agrandisement by the left, and the Merrill Lynch jibes will resound around such places of reasoned commentary as The Standard. However in Keeping Stock's opinion, this is nothing more than a cheap shot from a bitter and twisted man who sees his taxpayer-funded lifestyle about to be taken away. Cullen's leader has said that "This is an election about trust", and you can certainly trust Dr Michael Cullen to dish out the dirt!

Shows that Key is good at knowing when to cut the link. Unlike Labour with poor little Winnie!
Would Cullen accept the blame for something going wrong at a university he lectured at before he entered politics?
"A touch desperate perhaps". Perhaps?
It is simply desperate. No perhaps.
What the hell is wrong with TV3.
Can't they tell BS when they see it? Or are they just trying to win this years media award for political coverage as masters of the understatement of the year.

Merill Lynch has not collapsed. Key has not worked for them for several years.
Merill had some recent problems, but was sold, sold for US$50 billion.
BTW perhaps we should blame Cullen for Chris Trotter's frothings, as Trotter was a student of Cullen apparently

of course he woudln't accept it - he doesn't accept blame for the way he wrote a check for a Billion dollars and sent it off to Aussie (like anyone else in NZ who wants a better life)
but it would still be his fault.
